Artist in Residence Wall Art Assemblage for Artists

Is art where YOU live? Artist In Residence is the title of this quirky assemblage of found objects that combine with an original painting to create unique small wall art featuring a haunting mime face pencil headed character drawing inside a scene that's topped with a front door overhang from an old dollhouse. Various art supply tools are placed inside the background, including paint brush heads and pencils. The piece is wired for easy hanging and has protective bumpers.
This piece began with a small acrylic painting that was mounted inside a shoe box lid. The lid was brushed with black paint and clear varathane varnish. Then strips of painted paper from another project were glued into place along with vintage metal paper clips, a portion of an old wood ruler, pencils, paint brush heads, and strips of old cedar from a wood barn.

Though a serious piece of artwork, I hope that the fun I had creating it shows through with some whimsy. Thank you for taking the time to read and look!
